Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

Summary: Library Bro is a multi-tenant SaaS platform. We collect only the data necessary to run the platform, we never sell your data, and we take student privacy seriously.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, mobile number and password when you register as a library owner or student.
  • Library Data: Library name, address, seat layout, pricing plans, student records and attendance logs entered by library owners.
  • Student Data: Name, photo, contact details, enrolled seat and attendance records — entered by the library on behalf of their students.
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, browser type, IP address and device information (collected automatically).
  • Communications: Messages sent through our contact form or support channels.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain and improve the Library Bro platform.
  • Allow library owners to manage students, attendance, fees and reports.
  • Display library profiles publicly on the Library Bro directory (only information explicitly marked as public).
  • Send transactional emails such as OTPs, invoices and system notifications.
  • Respond to support requests and contact form submissions.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security threats.
  • Comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations.

3. Data Protection

We take the security of your data seriously:

  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS/SSL encryption.
  • Passwords are hashed using bcrypt — we never store plain-text passwords.
  • Database access is restricted to authorized systems only.
  • We perform regular backups to prevent data loss.
  • Access controls limit which team members can access production data.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Library Data & Multi-Tenancy

Library Bro operates as a multi-tenant platform. This means:

  • Each library's data is logically separated — Library A cannot access Library B's data.
  • Library owners have full control over their tenant's data within the platform.
  • Super administrators have oversight access for platform maintenance and support purposes only.
  • Data entered by a library (students, attendance, fees) belongs to that library and is accessible to their authorised staff only.

5. Student Privacy

Students' personal data is managed by the library they are enrolled in:

  • Student records including photos and contact details are visible only to the library's authorised staff.
  • Attendance records are private and not displayed publicly.
  • Students may request their library owner to update or delete their records.
  • We do not use student data for advertising or third-party profiling.

6. Third-Party Services

We may use trusted third-party services to operate the platform:

  • Email Delivery: Transactional emails are sent via configured SMTP providers.
  • Hosting: Platform infrastructure is hosted on shared or cloud hosting services.
  • Analytics: We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand platform usage.

These services may receive limited data necessary to perform their function. We do not share personally identifiable information for marketing purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
  • Objection: Object to certain processing of your data.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@librarybro.in.
